Meet the Board
CDAH is a not-for-profit organisation led by a Board of Directors, all of whom are people with disability. Our Board brings together a wide range of lived experiences, backgrounds, and professional expertise, united by a shared commitment to our values and vision.
Naomi Curry
President
More About Naomi
Naomi became involved with CDAH in 2013, when she began sharing her experience as a self-managed participant of the freshly minted NDIS scheme. She’s backed up by her extensive lived experience navigating the healthcare system and community as a person with chronic disease and psychosocial disability.
Naomi is never shy about calling things out as they are, and is proficient at guiding peers through complex and often confronting situations. Whether they require a smile or an eye roll, wordless solidarity or a fiery advocate, Naomi is ready to help.
She’s passionate about re-centering lived experience to make systems more inclusive and accessible.
Erin Forrester
Vice President
More About Erin
Erin has been a part of the CDAH journey for many years and currently sits on the NDIS Reference Group for people with intellectual disability.
Drawing on peer support from another individual with an intellectual disability, Erin developed skills in interviewing support workers, which enabled her to successfully move out of her family home.
Passionate about advocating for the rights of people with disability and promoting animal welfare, Erin looks forward to contributing to CDAH’s mission to make a meaningful difference in the lives of disability community members.

More About Jen
Stephen had a distinguished career as an electrical engineer. Born with a congenital hearing impairment, he began experiencing vision loss in his early teens and is now blind. He has served as President and Secretary of the Deafblind Association of NSW and attended Program of Appliances for Disabled People (PADP) meetings as a representative of the deafblind community. Additionally, he served for over ten years on the Newcastle City Council Disability Access Committee. Stephen is also a member of the Hunter Deafblind Group, Lions, and Toastmasters, and is currently the secretary of the Westlakes Amateur Radio Club.
Since the inception of the Hunter Deafblind Group, Stephen has been actively involved and has learned Auslan and tactile deafblind fingerspelling to connect better with his peers. With three university degrees, Stephen worked in the electricity industry as an engineer and utilises technologies like braille and computer software to access information. Through his lived experience of deafblindness, he educates others about the isolation it can cause and advocates for the value that deafblind individuals can bring to the community when given the opportunity.
